It’s totally normal to develop fine lines under your eyes as you age, but strategically treating this area can give your entire face a more youthful and refreshed look.

The skin that surrounds your eyes is much thinner and more delicate than that on the rest of your face. As skin ages it loses collagen and elasticity, causing the skin around your eyes to become even thinner and more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. This can be further aggravated by external factors including sun exposure, smoking, and eye movements such as blinking or squinting. The key to reducing and preventing lines under the eyes comes down to increasing collagen production.

We offer a variety of treatment options that stimulate the production of collagen and strengthen the skin around the eyes. Because each person’s face is different, we will create a tailored treatment for you to achieve visible results.

Botox

Botox is one of the most effective, widely used, and successful treatment options for a variety of conditions. Fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes often develop in response to repeated muscle movements like blinking and squinting. Botox can help by reducing the ability of these muscles to contract. By relaxing the muscles around the eye, your skin can look much firmer, erasing the lines and wrinkles that detract from the true beauty of your eyes.

Cosmetic Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers can minimize the appearance of fine lines under the eyes by providing support to the area. Fillers are best for deep lines that are present even when facial muscles are not contracting. If you experience volume loss under your eyes, injectable fillers can also be used to plump the skin and improve under eye hollowing.

Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing treatments target fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes through tiny microinjuries. This initiates a wound healing response and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. As a result, the treatment promotes remodeling of the dermis and heals skin from the inside out. We use the Icon 1540 non-ablative fractional laser, which has various micro-lenses that allow for customized treatments with minimal side effects and downtime.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are non-invasive treatments that combat fine lines and wrinkles and restore lost skin elasticity. During this procedure, we apply a chemical solution to your skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back after your chemical peel is smoother and firmer, which will help reduce the appearance of creases. We tailor our chemical peels to your individual needs, selecting only the best chemical or chemical blend for you. For maximum results, a series of three or more peels is needed depending on your skin condition.

Photo Rejuvenation Therapy

An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial emits a bright beam of light which is gently absorbed into the underlying layers of the skin, stimulating collagen growth. This helps improve the skin’s texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. IPL Photofacials are a non-abrasive, non-invasive procedure designed to improve the appearance and quality of the skin. Our Icon Aesthetic System makes treatments comfortable and fast in order to accommodate your busy lifestyle.

Micro-dermabrasion

Micro-dermabrasion is a minimally-invasive way to combat fine lines around the eyes. This treatment is primarily targeted at the superficial layers of the skin, so it is best for those with only mild creases. Micro-dermabrasion peels away the outermost layer of the skin to reveal the healthier, fresher looking skin beneath. It also encourages new production of elastin and collagen, which contribute to smoother skin. Results are immediate and noticeably improved.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a painless and noninvasive procedure that removes the dead surface skin to uncover new healthy skin cells, revealing smooth and soft skin. It helps spark the development of new collagen while reducing the appearance of crow’s feet and other fine lines around the eyes naturally. This treatment is a form of manual exfoliation that utilizes a sterile surgical blade called a dermatome. The dermatome is carefully stroked over the skin in even motions to exfoliate and remove outer layers of dead skin cells.

Sun Protection

The skin around your eyes is delicate, so if you want to reduce fine lines under your eyes, the best way is to protect the area from the sun. It’s really hard to apply sunblock here, because you don’t want to get it in your eyes, so we recommend investing in a great pair of UV-protection sunglasses. This is just as important in winter as it is in summer, so always keep a pair handy.
